# What is the process for cancelling a settled bill?

To cancel a settled bill, you can use the Cancel Bill Settlement feature or the Bill Settlement/Cancellation menu within the Cashier section, depending on the current status of the transaction.

**Option 1:** Using the Cancel Bill Settlement Menu

This process is used to specifically undo the settlement of a bill:

1\. Navigate to the Cashier menu and click on Cancel Bill Settlement.

2\. Click the Display button and select the specific bill or settlement you wish to cancel from the list.

3\. Click the cancel button located in the right-side corner to finalize the cancellation of the settlement.

**Option 2:** Using the Bill Settlement/Cancellation Menu

This menu allows you to cancel a bill by identifying it through its bill number:

1\. Navigate to the Cashier menu and click on Bill Settlement/Cancellation.

2\. Click on the Bill No search and select the appropriate bill.

3\. Click the Cancel button and enter a Cancel Reason when prompted.

If you need to view a history of these actions, you can check the Cancelled List under the Queries menu, which displays all cancelled items for a selected period.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.rbsgo.com/banquet/banquet-module/cashier/faq-on-cashier/what-is-the-process-for-cancelling-a-settled-bill.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
