# How do I define department aids in the masters?

To define Department Aids in the system, you must configure three interconnected settings in the Masters menu: the Department, the Aids Group, and finally the Aid itself.

1\. **Set up the Department**

Before creating an aid, ensure the relevant department exists.

• Navigate to Masters and click on Department.

• Click the New button.

• Enter a Department Id and Department Name.

• Click Save.

2\. **Create an Aids Group**

This allows you to categorize different types of aids.

• Navigate to Masters and click on Aids Group.

• Click the New button.

• Enter an Aids Group Id and Aids Group Name.

• Click Save.

3\. **Define the Aid**

Once the department and group are ready, you can define the specific aid.

• Navigate to Masters and click on Aids.

• Click the New button.

• Enter the Aids Id and Aids Name.

• Select the appropriate Aids Group List and Depart Name from the entries you created in the previous steps.

• Click Save to complete the process.

After these are defined in the Masters, they will be available for selection in the Department Aids field when you are creating a Reservation under the Transactions menu.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.rbsgo.com/banquet/banquet-module/masters/faq-on-masters/how-do-i-define-department-aids-in-the-masters.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
