# How do I use the Guest Charge Transfer tool?

The Guest Charge Transfer tool is used to move specific postings from one room's folio to another. This is particularly helpful for correcting billing errors or consolidating charges for guests who are paying together.

**Steps to Transfer a Guest Charge**

1. **Navigate to the Menu:** Go to the Cashier Main Menu and select Cashier > Guest Charge Transfer.

2\. **Select the Source Room:** In the transfer screen, select the From Room, which is the room where the charge is currently posted.

3\. **Select the Destination Room:** Select the To Room, which is the room where you want to move the charge.

4\. **Choose the Revenue Item:** Select the specific revenue item or charge that needs to be transferred.

5\. **Save the Transfer:** Click the Save button to finalize the move.

**Auditing and Verification**

Once a transfer is complete, it is recorded in the system for transparency:

· Guest Charge Transfer Audit: This specific report allows you to view all transfers made within a selected date range.

· Cashier Transaction Audit: Because a transfer is considered a modification of the guest ledger, it will also appear in this audit report. It will show which staff member performed the transfer and the data that was amended.

· Guest Folio: You can verify the transfer by checking the Guest Folio (Current Guest Ledger) for both the source and destination rooms to ensure the balances have updated correctly.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.rbsgo.com/front-office-module/fo-cashier/faq-on-cashier/how-do-i-use-the-guest-charge-transfer-tool.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
