# How do I release a room block in the system?

To release a room block in the system, you must navigate to the same module used to create the block. Follow these specific steps:

1\. **Select the Block Type:** Click on the required ROOM block type (such as Guest Room block, Maintenance Room block, or Management Room block) displayed in the type options.

2\. **Locate the Specific Block:** Select the required block number from the list of currently blocked rooms.

3\. **Execute the Release:** Click on the Release Button that appears in the right corner of the window under the Block Release option.

As a reminder from our previous discussion, rooms blocked for **Maintenance** can be categorized as **Out Of Order (OOO)** for long duration or **Out Of Service (OOS)** for short duration. Rooms marked as Out Of Order are not included in the room count for **Average Room Rate (ARR)** calculations, whereas Out Of Service rooms are included.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.rbsgo.com/front-office-module/fo-frontdesk/faq-on-front-desk/how-do-i-release-a-room-block-in-the-system.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
