# How do I create a new Guest Profile?

To create a new guest profile, you typically initiate the process during the reservation or check-in workflow. Follow these steps based on the sources:

### **During Reservation Creation**

* **Standard Reservation:** When creating a new reservation, go to the guest name section and **type the names** of the individuals in the designated columns by clicking the pencil icon or double-clicking the row.
* **Quick Reservation:** If you are using the Quick Reservation window (accessed via the calendar), enter the required guest details and check the **Create as new Guest** button before saving the booking.

### **Adding Detailed Information**

* **Guest Details & Instructions:** To include specific reservation instructions or other important guest-relevant notes, click the **Others** button within the guest profile area to input this information.
* **Advanced Profile Data:** For guests who are already in-house, you can enrich their profiles by navigating to **Front Desk > In-House Guest Amend**. From this screen, you can fill in:
  * **Personal Details:** Including likes, dislikes, and allergies.
  * **Documentation:** Passport and other official document details, which are often mandatory for foreign guests.
  * **Guest Statistics:** Such as guest type (VIP, repeat, etc.) and billing instructions

### **Managing Profiles**

* **Returning Guests:** If a guest has stayed before, you can use the **magnifier or search icon** to find and select their existing profile instead of creating a new one.
* **Guest Search:** You can view and manage current profiles by going to **Front Desk > Guest Search,** where clicking on a guest's name will open a window with their full details.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.rbsgo.com/front-office-module/fo-reserv/faq-on-reservations/how-do-i-create-a-new-guest-profile.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
