# How do I reinstate a cancelled reservation?

To reinstate a cancelled reservation, you must use the dedicated Reinstate Cancel tool within the Reservations module. This process is distinct from reinstating a **"No Show"** booking and follows these steps:

**1. Locate the Cancelled Reservation**

**Navigate to the Menu:** Go to Reservations, then on the sub-menu bar, click the Reinstate cancel button.

**Search:** The system will open a Reservation Search screen that filters for cancelled reservations only. You can find the specific booking by searching for either the Reservation Number or the Guest Name.

**Select:** Double-click the required reservation from the list to open it.

**2. Verify and Adjust Information**

* **Guest Details:** Review the guest's contact information, address, and profile details to ensure they are accurate and up to date.
* **Confirm Availability:** You must verify that the desired dates and room type are still available. If availability is limited, you may need to modify the room type or dates to accommodate the request.

**3. Finalize the Reinstatement**

* **Save:** Click the **Save** button.
* **Provide a Reason:** A prompt will appear asking for a reason to reinstate the reservation.
* **Complete:** Click **OK** to successfully restore the booking.

The system tracks these actions by maintaining the unique cancellation number originally generated for reference and audit purposes.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.rbsgo.com/front-office-module/fo-reserv/faq-on-reservations/how-do-i-reinstate-a-cancelled-reservation.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
