# ABC Consumption Analysis

Steps to view ABC consumption analysis

The **ABC Consumption Analysis** report classifies inventory items based on their consumption value during a specified period. It helps organisations identify which items contribute the most and the least to overall consumption value, enabling better inventory control, cost management, and purchasing decisions.

## Steps to View the ABC Consumption Analysis Report

Step 1: Navigate to the Analysis menu in the Inventory module.

1. Select **ABC Consumption Analysis**.

* The **ABC Consumption Analysis** screen will be displayed.

Step 2: After opening the report page, apply the necessary filters to generate the report.

1. Configure the Consumption Percentage Filter

* The **Consumption % Filter** allows users to classify items based on their contribution to the total consumption value.
* The system classifies items into A, B, and C categories based on the selected consumption percentage criteria.

1. **A Class Items -** Represent the highest consumption value.
2. **B Class Items -** Represent moderate consumption value.
3. **C Class Items -** Represent the lowest consumption value.

Step 3: Use the Funnel Filter![](https://4060887901-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F2ktZUs9CJyincVDXEmrM%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-a12a74f0cdaf6c71420fe12b80868cb214dabb16%2FScreenshot%20from%202026-06-03%2014-40-05.png?alt=media)

* The **Funnel Filter** allows users to search for and analyse specific information within the report.

1. Use the Group By Option

* The **Group By** drop-down allows users to organise report data into meaningful categories.
* The report can be grouped by Product Group

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.rbsgo.com/material-management/material-management-module/mm-analysis/mm-analysis-abc-consumption-analysis.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
