# XYZ Stock Analysis

Steps to view XYZ stock analysis

The **XYZ Stock Analysis** report classifies inventory items based on their stock value and consumption patterns. It helps organisations identify which items contribute the most and the least to inventory value, enabling better inventory control and stock management.

## Steps to View the XYZ Stock Analysis Report

Step 1: Navigate to the **Analysis** menu in the **Inventory** module.

1. Select **XYZ Stock Analysis**.

* The **XYZ Stock Analysis** screen will be displayed.

Step 2: After opening the report page, choose the appropriate analysis criteria.

* The **Stock % Filter** allows users to classify inventory items according to their contribution to the total stock value.
* The system classifies items into X, Y, and Z categories based on the selected stock percentage criteria.

1. **X Item Class -** Represents items with the highest stock value.
2. **Y Item Class -** Represents items with moderate stock value.
3. **Z Item Class -** Represents items with the lowest stock value.

* This classification helps organisations allocate resources and inventory management efforts more effectively.

Step 3: Use the Funnel Filter.![](https://4060887901-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F2ktZUs9CJyincVDXEmrM%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-db9ae51246f50cd73e0d882e19a2ed2e32c20f82%2FScreenshot%20from%202026-06-03%2009-52-22.png?alt=media)

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.rbsgo.com/material-management/material-management-module/mm-analysis/mm-analysis-xyz-stock-analysis.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
