# Approval Authority

Steps to set approval authority

**Approval Authority** is used to define the users who are authorised to approve specific transactions within the system. It determines the approval hierarchy and identifies the individuals responsible for reviewing and approving transactions before they are processed.

## Steps to Create Approval Authority

Step 1: Navigate to **Master** menu in the **Inventory** module.

1. Click on **Approval Authority**.

* The Approval Authority screen will be displayed.

Step 2: After opening the Approval Authority screen, select the required **Transaction**.

Step 3: Select the appropriate **Store Type** from the available options.

Step 4: Select the **User** who should be assigned as an approver for the selected transaction.

1. Click the **Add** button.

Step 5: If multiple approvers are required, select additional users from the user list.

Step 6: Ensure that all required approval authorities have been assigned correctly.

1. Click the **Save** button.

* The Approval Authority configuration will be saved successfully.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.rbsgo.com/material-management/material-management-module/mm-masters/mm-masters-approval-authority.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
